1.0 mm foam can be curled to 1" radius without creasing.
Sand lightly where glue is to be applied.
Fast drying paints may be used - try on scrap first.
Foam has more strength in one direction. Curls better other way.
*Note - 2 mm foam has a slight curve and is not as smooth.
